1. Getting Started

Introduction (How To Install Your Theme)

After you download the package from ThemeForest or GET99TOOL, please unzip it. You’ll see a file called, which needs to be uploaded and installed.

Now that you made sure WordPress is up to date, you can install the theme, and there are two ways to install Martfury, via WordPress or via FTP.

Install Martfury via WordPress

Step 1 – Log into your WordPress website and go to Appearance > Themes and click Add New.

Step 3 – Browse the file on your computer and click Install Now

Step 4 – After the theme was installed successfully, just click to activate it.

If you get the “Are You Sure You Want To Do This” message when installing file via WordPress, it means you have an upload file size limit. You need to install the theme via FTP, or contact your hosting provider to increase the limit.

Install Martfury via FTP

Step 1 – Unzip the file, you’ll get a folder martfury.

Step 2 – Log into your hosting space via an FTP software (Use a FTP client like FileZilla).

Step 3 – Upload that folder to wp-content/themes folder on your host.

Step 4  – Go to Appearance > Themes and activate the Martfury theme.

How To Install Plugins Included

After installing the Martfury theme, you’ll see a notification on the top of the page that says the theme needs some plugins to function properly.

The Martfury theme requires following plugins:

Note: This theme recommends installing and activating only one plugin Elementor or WPBakery Page Builder.


Install Plugins

Step 1 – Click to Begin installing plugins the top of the page.

Step 2 – Check boxes to select all the plugins you want to install and click on Install from the dropdown box and then click the button to Apply.

Step 3 – After you have installed all the plugins, click on Return to Required Plugins Installer.

Step 4 – Select the plugins you installed, and apply the bulk action to activate.

Activate & Save Permalinks

To prevent any 404 errors on custom post type pages, after installing and activating plugins for this theme, you need to activate & save permalinks.

Step 1 – Go to SettingsPermalink settings

Step 2 – Select the format you would like to use.

Step 3 – Click the save button.


One click import demo content

The easiest way to import our demo content is to use Demo Content Importer. The importer will give you all pages and posts, sample sliders, widgets,  Theme Options, and more with only one click. To import our demo content, please see the steps below.

Step 1 – Download Soo Demo Importer plugin or get in the plugins folder of the theme package.

Step 2 – Read our Install a Plugin using the WordPress Admin Plugin Upload or Manually Install a WordPress Plugin using FTP to learn how to install a plugin.

Step 3 – Go to Appearance > Import Demo Data.

Step 4 – Choose the demo and data you want to import.

Step 5 – Click Import.

NB: Remember our tutorial is on Medical ecommerce website, so look for Medical like the screenshot below.

Step 6 – It can take a few minutes to import everything. Please be patient and wait for it to complete. Once it loads, you will see a Import Completed message.


Step 7 –  The Final Setup 

There are some things you need to change. To do them, please see the steps below.

Footer Links

  • Go to Appearance >Widgets>Footer Links>select menus you want to show
  • Click Save

Footer Widgets

  • Go to Appearance >Widgets>Footer 1, 2, 3, 4>select menus you want to show
  • Click Save

MailChimp Form

  • Go to MailChimp for WP>Forms:
  • Click Save Changes

Contact Form 7:

  • Go to Contact>Contact forms>Edit Contact form>Mail:

Activate & Save Permalinks

  • Go to Settings> Permalink settings
  • Select the format you would like to use.
  • Click the save button.

Custom Site Identity (Now lets get our site ready)

This option will help you edit your title and tagline, and set site icon (The Site Icon is used as a browser and app icon for your site).

Go to Appearance > Customize > General > Site Identity to  change your title, tagline and upload your site icon.

Newsletter Popup

Newsletter Popup gives you the ability to have an email subscription modal popup. Each time a new user visits your site, the user will see the modal popup for an email subscription.

Go to Appearance > Customize > General > NewsLetter to change your NewsLetter:

How to Change Your Logo

The theme includes options to upload and custom your logo such as: logo width, logo height and logo margin.

Simply go to Appearance > Customize > Header > Logo to upload your logo.

Top bar

How to enable the top bar?

Currently, the theme just includes top bar in case you choose Header 1, Header 2, Header 4 and Header 5.

Simply go to Appearance > Customize > Header > Header Layout  > Enable Topbar’ to enable/disable your topbar.

How to change the topbar content?

Simply go to Appearance > Widgets > Topbar Left/Topbar Right’ to drag and drop your widgets.

  1. Topbar Left: Drag widget here and enter the content of your widget.
  2. Topbar Right: Drag widgets to here and enter the content of your widget.
    1. Language Switcher: Install WPML to setup your language switcher and drag the Language Selector widget here.
    2. Currency Swicher: Install WooCommerce Currency Switcher plugin to setup your currency switcher and drag the WooCommerce Currency Swicher widget here.

Shop by Department Menu

On the Header of Martfury theme, there is a special menu that directs users to the Product Categories, and it is called:  Shop by Department Menu

To change its setting, please go to Customize ▸ Header  ▸ Department Menu, at the end of the panel, you will see settings for Shop by Department Menu.

Department Text

This is the text that shown on the header bar. You can change or translate this phrase in this setting.

Department Link

This is where you enter the link of your Department page.

Department Menu on Homepage

Here you can see two options: Open and Close.

1. Open

Note: If you select “Open” option, the Shop by Department Menu will not close when you clicking it. 

2. Close

Choose the Close option to close the Department Menu when users do not use it.

Editing menu

To edit menu items in the Shop By Department menu, please go to Appearance ▸ Menus ▸ Edit Menus ▸ Select a menu to edit  ▸ Shop By Department.

Account (User login type)

This section allows you to set up how to display user account: by Icon or Avatar?

Create New Menu

Following these steps to create a menu.

Step 1 – Go to Appearance > Menus

Step 2 – Click the create a new menu link to create new menu.


Step 3 – Select items from the left meta boxes and click Add to Menu

Step 4 – On the right, feel free to drag and drop menu items to organize them

Step 5 – When you’re done moving menu items, check a menu location at the bottom of the page

Step 6 – Click Save Menu

By default WordPress only shows the basic menu items, but you can scroll on top page, click to ‘Screen Options’ and check section menu you want to show. Such as Product Categories, Products.


Footer Layout

Simply go to Appearance > Customize > Footer > Footer Layout to change your footer.

Blog Page Setup

The theme includes support for a blog which displays your latest posts. You need  to create your blog page using the default template and  set your blog page under Settings > Reading, with this way we will use the index.php template file instead.


Wocommerce Setup

Variable Product


Go to Products > Attributes. In the Add new attribute area, fill in the form to create a new color attribute.

After you clicked the Add attribute button, you will see your color attribute has been created. Click Configure terms to config your color.

To add a new color, fill in the form Add new Color name of the color, then select its shown color from Color Chooser as below. Finally, remember to click Add new Color button.

You can add as many colors as your products need.

Variable Product

Go to Products > All products > then choose a productSelect a product you want and edit it.

Go to its Product Data and change it to Variable Product.

Then, go to Attributes and add color and size attributes to the product with these settings.

Then, go to Variations and add variation.

You will then get a result seems like this.

Next step, set regular price and fill your price in each Variation. Also change its feature image for each color.

Update the product, view and check how it changed.


You can also change this swatcher.

Simpy go to Swatches > Color then change your settings into your like. For example, we change the swatch type in to Custom Image and its style to Square. So we must provide a image for each Variation by click the Edit link in each Variation and upload its image.

You will then get a result like this.

Finally, save all the changed settings, update your product and do to its Product page to check your product. Remember to choose the size first then choose the color later.

WooCommerce Pages

Upon installation, WooCommerce creates the following new pages via the Setup Wizard:

  • Shop – No content required.
  • Cart – Contains

    Your cart is currently empty.

    Return to shop

    shortcode and shows the cart contents
  • Checkout – Contains
    shortcode and shows information such as shipping and payment options
  • My Account – Contains
    shortcode and shows each customer information related to their account, orders, etc.

Install pages again

If you skipped the Setup Wizard or want to install missing WooCommerce pages, go to WooCommerce > Status > Tools and use the page installer tool.

Tell WooCommerce what pages to use

If you set up new pages yourself, or want to change what pages are used for things like cart and checkout, you need to tell WooCommerce which pages to use.

To tell WooCommerce what pages to use for Cart, Checkout, My Account, and Terms and Conditions, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced.

To tell WooCommerce what pages to use for the Shop page go to WooCommerce > Settings > Products.

What is the Shop page?

The Shop page is a placeholder for a post type archive for products. It may render differently than other pages in your install.

If you’re using SEO plugins, they may include settings specific to custom post type archives, and these settings are what you should be using to control the shop page.

This page should be compatible with all WordPress themes, even ones not made specifically for WooCommerce, as of version 3.3x. Should you be using a custom/child theme or a version of WooCommerce prior to 3.3x, or experiencing a compatibility issue, go to: Third-party/custom theme compatibility.

How to enable customer registration

1, By default, WooCommerce plugin disable register function. Just go to WooCommerce > Settings > Accounts > Customer registration and check these options.

2, If only Log in form is shown but not the Register form, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Accounts and uncheck Automatically generate username from customer email option.


This section tells you how to change the settings of “My account” page (or Login/Register page)

How to add/display registration tab

In some cases, you may not find the registration tab, or do not know where to register a new account like this:

The registration feature is generated by WooCoomerce, so you have to go to its settings to turn it on. Please go to WooCommerce > Settings > Account & Privacy > in the section: Account creation > tick the check box: “Allow customers to create an account on the “My account” page“.

How to translate the Login/Register box?

In case you are using Loco plugin, please go to Loco Translate -> Theme -> Martfury -> search for the phrase and translate it.

Log in with Social Accounts

To allow visitors to log in the shop with their social accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter), you can try to search on WordPress install the plugin below:

How to change My Account navigation links
